Durhamstown Castle is the ideal venue for your celbration. On arrival you will be welcomed into the informal and charming atmosphere of our family home with tea and coffee. We undertake all the arrangements during your stay and take huge pride in our hosting and our house with twenty acres to play in outside!
The enfilade layout of the rooms, with large drawing room, music room, dining room and spacious hall, will be perfect for your celebration. Just imagine the enjoyment of your first glass of champagne as husband and wife in this setting. It allows for people to have quiet chats in the music room or naturally elegant sitting room and then rejoin the throng for some dancing in the Great Barn!
We cater for celbrations large and small. The Castle Dining room can hold up to thirty for a Banquet. Larger celebrations are held in the Great Barn which can hold 40-150 guests. We've had both and they work equally well For smaller groups we divide the Great Barn into dining, dancing and the bar relaxing areas. It works a treat.
The castle is set up to sleep 20, additional beds can be added to the larger bedrooms.
We cater for groups of 70 to 150 in the barn.

At Durhamstown Castle we are famous for our culinary delights so naturally we love to share this magic with our guests with our cookery demonstration. (€30 per person.)
Also great fun, with our skilled bar man, is our one or two hour cocktail making lesson. (€25 per person one hour lesson / €35 per person two hour lesson.)

Our food we serve for weddings and other celebrations is frankly delicious. The influences are Italian, River Cafe; Jamie Oliver; David Tannis; Yotam Ottolenghi; Madhur Jaffrey....et al. Wonderful chefs all and still inspiring people every day. We source all our meat and fish locally and our cheeses are all supplied by Sheridans cheesemongers.
Ante pastas and Middle Eastern Mezze spread out for all to share, break the ice and have everyone chatting. Followed by large Platters andBoards with roasts or casseroles, add further to the harvest festival/village fete atmosphere. Pretty vintage jugs of wine and cloudy wet bottles of spring water from our own well keeps it all flowing.

We offer a four course dinner for €45 per person. A full Irish breakfast at €12 per person can also be prepared or, optionally we can leave breakfast goodies in the fridge for you to cater for yourself.
There are 7 bedrooms; 6 double beds and 5 single beds in the Castle. Plus cot and travel cot. There is a sofa bed which can be set up in the Music Room, downstairs. There are four bathrooms and two separate loos.
We have two other houses in the Courtyard that can be rented for your guests. The Coach House and the Garden flat. Both sleep 5 people. They have kitchens, bathrooms etc.
In all we can accommodate up to 30 guests for your big occasion.
We will be restoring the Orchard/walled garden this year and will have space for on-site glamping. Bell tents can be rented from LPMBohemia for the weekend.
